L'appartment est situé Boulevard Richard Lenoir, à mi-chemin entre la place de la Bastille et la place de la République. Il se trouve au troisième étage d'un immeuble typiquement parisien, datant de la fin du 19e siècle et pourvu d'un ascenseur. Sa superficie est de 75 m2. Les pièces ont de hauts plafonds, des parquets, des moulures et de larges fenêtres à double vitrage. Ce qui nous a immédiatement séduits quand nous avons acheté l'appartement il y a une quinzaine d'années, c'est la lumière et la vue sur les arbres du boulevard.
La porte d'entrée ouvre sur un hall spacieux, comportant des rayonnages. Le séjour et le bureau-chambre ont chacun une cheminée et des balcons ouvant sur le boulevard; ils sont exposés à l'ouest. Le séjour comporte des meubles anciens essentiellement : une table de salle à manger et six chaises, des fauteuils, une armoire normande et des meubles plus petits, ainsi qu'un petit canapé-lit. La chambre à coucher principale, qui donne sur une petite cour très calme, comprend un lit à deux places, un bureau, trois placards (contenant tout le linge de maison nécessaire), et un poêle en faïence alsacien. La troisième pièce, aménagée en bureau, comporte deux lits gigogne à une place, un bureau, des rayonnages, et un placard. Vous disposez également d'un fer à repasser avec planche et d'un aspirateur.
La cuisine a été complètement rénovée par une architecte il y a quatre ans. Les meubles de cuisine, y compris une petite table où nous prenons nos repas quand nous sommes seuls, ont été faits sur mesure. La cuisine est entièrement équipée de machines neuves : cuisinière, four micro-ondes, lave-vaisselle, lave/sèche-linge, robot, cafetière électrique, etc. La salle de bains, que la même architecte a rénovée l'an dernier, comporte une baignoire avec douche, un radiateur à serviettes et un séchoir à cheveux. Les toilettes sont séparées. L'appartement a été entièrement repeint il y a quelques mois et les radiateurs changés (chauffage électrique). Il est équipé d'un téléphone fixe, de WiFi et d'une télévision avec cable. Les appels vers les USA et le Canada sont gratuits.

This is the perfect location (and great price) to spend your time in Paris. Most important....I always feel safe in this lovely neighborhood. The metro is just across the street..so convenient. Bastille and the Marais are just a few blocks away with some great restaurants. The two times I have stayed, the building had only a few tenants so the apartment was very quiet. Everything you need for your stay is in the apartment...full renovated kitchen with dishwasher and washer/dryer and renovated bathroom is perfect. Last but not least, manager Catherine is responsive and delightful! I will be back!”
The apartment was spacious, light and airy (freshly painted!!!) - the newly renovated bathroom was very nice – the kitchen accommodated all of our cooking needs – and the big French windows/doors – the balcony – the view of the park from the balcony – really great!!!
There were so many “extras” - everything one needs to feel “at home” rather than “renting” an apartment: guide books – books – music - umbrellas – china and cutlery for daily use and special occasions – table linens – extra light bulbs – bedding – to mention just a few of the many special touches. All those things made our stay so easy and comfortable.
Plus the location is super – such fun to see the Place de la Bastille from the balcony. Every morning, I'd awaken – go to the balcony – step outside and look at Bastille and say “Bonjours, Paris”!!!) Great local transport – metro – bus – just a few minutes from the apartment. All of Paris was easily accessible from our location. Swimming pool about 4 minutes walk – St. Ambroise Church – beautiful!!! - grocery stores – restaurants and cafes – 4 weekly open air markets with marvelous fresh foods – and a short walk to the beautiful canal. It was just perfect!!!
Each morning, Alan would go the one of the boulangeries and buy croissants, baguettes and pastries – then we selected one thing to do that day and took our time doing it. We visited museums, parks, local sights – many of which we had not seen before – and of course, we enjoyed speaking French again!!
Catherine was so helpful – arranging our transfer from the airport and greeting us upon our arrival – even a special bottle of champagne to welcome us!!! - And we knew she was always available if we needed anything – she is a pleasure to work with and visit with as well.
